I didn’t want this blog to become just another typical beauty blog (there is nothing wrong with that obviously), however from time to time I will be sharing what I’ve purchased recently. Simply because it is something I enjoy and I always head to blogs first before I commit to a product. Here are a few beauty buys I have acquired over the past few months… Let me know what you think?
Nars All Day Weightless Luminous Foundation
As mentioned in my post here discussing caramel foundations, this Nars foundation has been on my wishlist for a while. There have been mixed reviews on the product from the bloggersphere, but I always think you never know until you try it! So I took a stroll through Selfridges and ended up at the Nars counter. The MUA was really helpful (for once) and colour-matched me with the shade ‘Tahoe’. I already have the Radiant Creamy Concealer in Caramel and this foundation complimented it perfectly.
This Nars foundation is absolutely fantastic and everything you could ever want. For reference my skin-type is combination, but leans more on the dry side. You only need maybe max 2-3 pumps of the product for light to medium coverage.
One thing I wanted is to not look cakey or like I’m wearing a lot of make-up (especially for Summer days). Obviously, the product is buildable, so if you wanted full coverage for a night-out or special event then go ahead and pump a few more drops. It all depends on you and how good you are at blending!
This foundation was at a premium price of £34 (I am crying inside), but I truly believe it is worth every single penny. It is long-lasting, sits well, buildable and makes your skin just look better. After my nightmare with Revlon’s Photoready foundation, the Nars All Day Weightless Luminous foundation is an absolute godsend.
Benefit’s Watts Up
I had the mini version of Watts Up in one of the Benefit sets I had bought last year so I knew what I was getting myself into. The full-size version is so much better and blends like an absolute DREAM! This has a champagne glow to it so it is perfect for every skin-tone, worn alone or over foundation.
If you are after that dewy bronzed look or just want to bring some light to your face, this is well worth the money. My only negative about the product is that the blending brush is quite pointless and frankly gets dirty after a few uses.
My Beauty Wishlist
Urban Decay Setting Spray
I never touch up my make-up, simply because I cannot be bothered and in my defence I like the “lived in” look. I have heard good things about the Urban Decay setting spray and I think this will have a place in my collection this summer. I am going to Las Vegas in August and the last thing I want is to look like I am melting in the 40C heat. Would you recommend this? Or have you discovered any just as good and much cheaper alternatives?
Benefit’s POREfessional
Again, I’ve had the mini version of this and absolutely loved it but I’m not ready to shell out £20+ for a primer. I guess I’ll stick with Body Shop’s Instablur until I feel the urge to try something new.
Mac Lipsticks in Honey Love, Half N Half, Fresh Brew…
Mac lipsticks are absolutely amazing and well worth their £15ish price tag (eek!). I find cheaper drugstore brands a tad oily and do not really have much lasting power. I have been using Mac Spirit as my every day nude for the past few months and I absolutely love it! But sometimes it’s good to shake it up and try something new that is why I am after Honey Love, Half N Half and Fresh Brew. I will definitely be swatching them on my next trip to the Mac store. You can also find my Summer/Spring nude moodboard here for a little nudespiration!
What have you bought recently that you have enjoyed or what is on your beauty wishlist?

Great blog 👍🏻 lovely part of the benefit highlighter, would you think it’s worth the cost or buy a set with it in first? Thanks x

Thanks for your comment – much appreciated! I would get the set if you wanted to try more products too! Or if you’re just after the highlighter buy it on it’s own! xx
