Memoirs: Dig a Little Deeper with a Q&A

I found these questions on Tumblr and though they were a little different from the usual Q and As. Here goes…

Do you prefer writing with black or blue pen?

Would you prefer to live in the country or the city?
I’ve always been a city girl, the slower country life just isn’t for me. I find solace in the fact that I want a watermelon at 4am I know somewhere would be open.

If you could learn a new skill, what would it be?
I would LOVE to make my own clothes. You know when you see something you like in a store and they ruin it with a tacky embellishment or it just looks horrid. I’d love to be able to produce exactly what I want in the material and cut I want.
Do you drink your tea or coffee with sugar?
One sugar… it used to be two but I have cut down because I’m ‘trying’ to make healthier decisions.

What was your favourite book as a child?
The only one that springs to mind is the Goosebumps book ‘Say Cheese or Die’.

Do you prefer baths or showers?
Baths to relax but showers for speed.

If you could be a mythical creature, which would you choose?
Unicorns are SO overrated and so 2015 so I think I’d like to be a mermaid… but my hair... 😰

Do you prefer reading paper or electronic books?
Paper for the pool but electronic for portability.

What is your favourite item of clothing?
This chops and changes ALL the time but I think it was my Asos leather jacket was my favourite item of clothing I’ve ever owned. It sadly went to its final resting place (the bin) earlier this year.

Do you like your name? Would you ever change it?
No and I’d love to change it but all the paperwork puts me off.

Who is a mentor to you?
My friends.

Would you ever want to be famous? If so, what for?
I don’t know if I’d want to be famous to be honest, the lack of privacy element scares me.

Are you a restless sleeper?
No but I find it hard to fall asleep.

Do you consider yourself a romantic?

Yes – as sad as it sounds BUT I’ve never had romance. I’ve been conditioned by what I see around me, so what is romance, I need to figure out what it means to me.

Which element best represents you?
Water 💦

Who do you want to be closer to?
No one currently – I like my personal space!

Do you miss someone at the moment?

Tell us about an early childhood memory.
I really can’t think of one!

What is the strangest thing you have eaten?
Snake (on a trip to China).

What can you see outside your bedroom window?
Cars, pavement, trees and a bus stop.

What are you most thankful for?
My mindset (especially when I focus).

Do you like spicy food?
I don’t mind a bit of spice but not so much your nose starts sweating…

Have you ever met someone famous?
Lady Gaga!

Do you keep a diary or journal?
This blog…

Do you prefer to use pen or pencil?
A pen. It’s mightier than the sword.

What is your star sign?

Do you like your cereal crunchy or soggy?
Crunchy, you gotta get ratio of milk to cereal right.

What would you want your legacy to be?
That I set out to lead a colourful life.

Do you like reading? What was the last thing you read?
I love reading but I wish I had more time. The last book I read was Maestra (which is a brilliant read btw).

How do you show someone you love them?
I don’t.

Do you like ice in your drinks?
Yes – I love to crunch it afterwards!

What are you afraid of?
Spiders 😷

What is your favourite scent?
These are pretty obscure but I love the smell of petrol, freshly cut grass, men’s aftershave and fresh laundry.

Do you address older people by their first or last name?
First name.

If money was not a factor, how would you live your life?
I would love to hotel hop, eat, write and explore the local towns.

Do you prefer swimming in pools or in the ocean?
I love the pool but I’m getting more confident with the ocean these days.

What would you do if you found $50 on the ground?
Pick it up, put it in my pocket and either spend it on make up, flights or food.

Have you ever seen a shooting star? Did you make a wish?

What is one thing you would want to teach your children?
That 2016 has proved anything is possible.

If you had to have a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it?
I already have five tattoos but my next one is going to be an arrow. In order to go forward you need to pull back and launch yourself.

What can you hear right now?
The sound of the tube and this annoying woman next to me shaking her newspaper. She needs to read my Commuter Quirks blog post.

Where do you feel the safest?
In my room.

What is one thing you want to overcome/conquer?
My trust issues.

If you could travel back to any era, which would you choose?
I originally thought 1920s era as I love all things Art Deco but there is something so carefree about the 80s.

What is your most used emoji?

What is your favourite season? Why?
I love Spring because it signifies new beginnings, the weather starts to warm up and all the flowers start to bloom.

How would you spend your ideal day?
My ideal day always starts with positive mindset, so I’d spend it like this:
5.47am – Wake up
7am – Get some writing done
9am – Breakfast
10am – Gym
12pm – 6pm – Combination of going shopping/beach/food/some kind of random adventure (A girl can dream)
7pm – Get ready for a lowkey night out
9pm – Arrive at a rooftop bar
2am – HOME

Describe yourself using one word.

What do you regret the most?
Going to university. I feel like it has held me back four years but I’m working on becoming self-made right now.

Invent your own word. What does it mean?
Charmuse… be your own muse and amuse yourself.

Char xo

About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
