Guest Post: Short Term Travel*

Holidays can be time-consuming. Not only do they take a long time to plan, you’ll most likely be out of the country for a long time and this means you’ll have to take a fairly long holiday. Most of us can’t find the time to get off work, so we’re left with one option: to find unique short-term holidays that are worth every penny. However, since travelling can take most of the time we have off, we usually have to stick to destinations that are close to home. Thankfully, there’s one way to get around this: be creative with our holidays! Here are just a few ideas to whet your appetite for travel.

Road Trips

Road trips are an extremely popular way to explore the country, but they can also be a fun way to travel into a different state, continent or region. They usually take a bit of planning because the last thing you want is to be stuck in a different place far from home, and it needs a driver that’s capable of driving long distances without feeling too fatigued. However, if you plan it properly and you make enough stops, it can be a fun way to spend a weekend with friends and family members. Just bring some entertainment, changes of clothes, and some emergency snacks in case you get a little hungry on the way! It’s important to also bring battery backups for your phone so that you can continue using the GPS and not get lost.

Cruise Ships

Cruise ships are unique all-included holidays for people that have a little extra money to spend and want something luxurious. Not only do cruise ships include everything from shopping to nightlife, they’re also extremely relaxing. The cruise ships have plenty of places to relax and lounge in the sun, and there are also lots of fun events, activities and music to get involved with. You can usually find the best TV cruise deals on the internet, and they’re often accompanied by a lot of extra advice and information. For instance, you could get a cruise ship that takes you all across the Pacific Ocean with regular stops at different islands and countries. These stops are usually to refill supplies if it’s a long cruise, but it can also be for the passengers to explore the area around the dock.

Rail Adventures

Seeing a pattern yet? The best way to make the most out of a holiday is to make a holiday out of the travel experience. In a plane, you only get to see the sky and there’s very little outside of clouds to view. When you’re on a cruise, all you really see is water and when you’re on the road in a car, you usually have to focus on driving. If you want to see the world in all of its glory, then there’s no other option than to take a rail holiday. Trains are wonderful machines that travel across all types of terrain, so if you want a holiday with beautiful sights, luxury and plenty of amenities, look no further than a long train ride.
