Here is a little round up of my what I saw, what I ate and what I did in Vegas in my most recent trip. I also have my Vegas To Do list here if you’re in need of other ideas of where to eat, what to see and things to do.
1OAK Nightclub
The music is POPPING if you like Hip Hop and R&B, but the drinks, like most Vegas clubs are way too overpriced. I’m on the champagne lifestyle, lemonade budget… So to save some dollars, I’d recommend purchasing alcohol in duty free or in a liquor store and having some pre-drinks in your room before you hit the club. Or you can hit the slots, tip the waitress and she’ll bring you a drink (THIS WORKS TRUST ME). Either way it’ll be much cheaper than your $20 mixer in 1OAK.
Bottle service in Vegas is RIDICULOUSLY expensive and it appears to be the only way to get a seat in the club, so make sure your heels are comfy or you bring some flats in your bag. I’ve always said go high or go home, but I’d rather go home if you wanna charge me $600 for a bottle of Grey Goose. BYE.
On another note, one thing I do love about Vegas clubs, and clubs in general in America is AIRCON. No sweaty curly mess over here.
Cirque Zumanity
I’ve always wanted to go to a Cirque but never actually been before as I’d always favoured male revues and comedy when in Vegas. However, the Tix 4 Tonight stand had some 3rd tickets on sale for $92, so when in Vegas, sometimes you gotta book a last minute show and go with the flow. Annoyingly, the traffic on The Strip stopped our flow and we ended up being 20 minutes late but we were alerted that we hadn’t missed too much of the show…
Zumanity was absolutely mindblowing, funny and charismatic. The cast is diverse, talented and it’ll leave you feeling a little hot under the collar. If you plan well in Vegas, it’s possible to see two shows in one night… which leads me on to…
Magic Mike
New to The Strip, Magic Mike is one of my favourite films and now one of my favourite Vegas shows. It has found a home in the Domina Theatre at the Hard Rock hotel and you’ll find a fair few rock hard things at this show. It is a little more dance focussed rather than lots of male flesh on show like The Chippendales. My only gripe is the MC talks WAY TOO MUCH and tries to string along a storyline that never was really there. If you are thinking of booking, I’d recommend shelling out for VIP or front row seats as anywhere else gives you a restricted view. If you don’t care either way and just wanna soak up the atmosphere (and some sweat), other seats are much cheaper.
The Chippendales
Yes I went to see The Chippendales again and it was probably my highlight of 2017 because I now have a perfomer’s ripped vest underneath my pillow.
The Chippendales is your safest best when wondering what male revue show in Vegas to book but it can get a little cheesey at times. BUT if you don’t care either way and wanna see some flesh, I would book it anyway. My second time was much better as I made sure to get front row seats so I could feel like I was on stage with them. Should I do my comparison of Magic Mike, Thunder from Down Under and the Chippendales like I promised in a separate blog?
Tip: If you’re in a group of more than six, book through their official website and you’ll get VIP seats and 10% off. Save money and see more… Or get last minute tickets from the Tix 4 Tonight stands located up and down The Strip.
VooDoo Zip Wire at the Rio
After The Chippendales, if you’re feeling brave (I certainly wasn’t), there is a zip wire connecting the two Rio hotels. At $37, it isn’t the cheapest activity, but possible one of the most memorable. However, if you’re a wimp like me, you can enjoy incredible views of Vegas from the Voodoo Rooftop Bar and Lounge for free.
Rachael’s Kitchen
My old fave Du-Parrs closed down in February, but Rachael’s Kitchen is high-ranking on the top places in Downtown Vegas for breakfast. If you’re staying on The Strip, an Uber journey here is less than $10 and the breakfast is half the price and much healthier, so worth getting away for a taste of old Vegas.
In true American style, the portions are HUGE, so I’d recommend sharing with a group or friends, that way you get to try a little everything and save money too. The pancakes are amazing and the smoothies are fresh, what more could you want for breakfast.
Stay tuned for more to see, eat and do in Vegas. For now, I found some more Las Vegas ideas on this blog post!

Ahhhh I love your realistic guides for expensive cities. Definitely things I would also get up to.
$20 for a spirit and mixer?! Did I hear correctly? Do they want us to be sober???! Pre-drinking is always a brilliant idea!
If I was in Vegas this year I would have loved to go to see Calvin Harris and JLo. I went to Vegas when I was 17, the best time of my life even though I was banned from everywhere.
I wanna read more Vegas diaries!
