Musings: Nailing It With Mont Bleu – A Review

When Mont Bleu got in touch asking if I wanted to try some of their products I leaped at the chance. Having browsed through their website, I was enamoured at the amount of products available, the different colour choices available with so much detail and knowledge. Not only that, they’re so affordable with prices starting at £2 (The prices shown are in Euros though, so do bear that in mind).

Nailed it

In essence, Mont Bleu are a Czech manufacturer who specialise in bejeweled beauty products. Particularly in: glass nail files, glass cuticle sticks, scraper foot files, scissors, manicure sticks, pliers, and nippers. They are available in sets, individually, and in various of form and finishes. I wasn’t sure what to pick so I asked them to surprise me and I was SO happy with what I received.

How cute?!

If you know me well, you’ll know that black is my favourite colour so this set suited me very well. What is most beautiful about them is that they’re adorned with Swarovski elements – giving each product quality and that extra WOW factor. So if you’re after some new products, with a little something extra, or you’re looking for a gift for someone obsessed with nails, definitely have a browse through the Mont Bleu website.

Some may wonder how you even review a nail file, as they all essentially do the same job but if you’ve used traditional emery boards and glass files you’ll know there is a huge difference. Traditional emery boards don’t last long, don’t give you a smooth finish and frankly, they’re dire. They’re only good for emergencies.
The Mont Bleu set I received contained small, large, and medium files and as well as for my feet along with some cuticle scissors. I actually put the small file in my cabin bag for my next trip, as it is the perfect size for hand luggage. However, the large and medium nail files were perfect for me to use week by week on my feet and hands. I tend to keep my nails short and square and they really helped me get the perfect shape.
I won’t scar you for life by posting pictures of my feet (although I hear it’s a lucrative business), but I couldn’t believe how effective it was on filing down dead skin (ew, I’m sorry). I realised it was best to use this after a hot shower when your skin is soft and follow up with a hydrating moisturiser afterwards. It’s now become part of my ‘get my feet ready for summer’ routine.

My horrible nails after 🙂

What I loved most about these products is the attention to detail and the quality. They certainly had a weight to them but didn’t feel flimsy in the slightest, the very opposite to a flimsy paper emery board. Not only that, the Swarovski gems are beautiful addition, really give them a luxe appeal and along with the Mont Bleu certified stickers you know you’re in good hands…
Back in the day I was obsessed with all things nails and I still find solace in doing my nails as part of my weekly self-care routine. There is something so satisfying about taking time out for yourself, giving yourself a mani or pedi (or both) and starting the week feeling relaxed. Thank you so much to Mont Bleu for allowing me to do this in style.

About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
