Musings: Glowing With Femme Beauty

Please note, these products were sent for my review; all views are my own.

No one wants to be ashy these days unless I’m sorely mistaken. I live for the glow, I want you to see me or my highlight before I arrive and I want to be seen from space. All jokes aside, who doesn’t Iove a dewy healthy glow whether it’s summer or winter? I’m not talking about looking like you’ve rolled in glitter but that gorgeous lit from within or ‘has she or hasn’t she’ been on holiday look.

UK weather is consistent in it’s inconsistency – the only thing we’re good at. The dark mornings and even darker evenings can leave you feeling sadder than usual (yes, it’s a thing) so why not lighten up your days with Femme Beauty’s stellar range of glow-bestowers?

I was kindly sent the Lumi Glow body illuminator and Lumi Mist to try and I am OBSESSED. I don’t need to be travelling or in the sun to enjoy these.  They were launched worldwide on July 26th and come from Polished London; best of all they’re vegan and cruelty-free.

Lumi Glow Body Illuminator

“Dip right into Femme Beauty’s new Lumi Glow body illuminator. A silky body illuminator gel with shimmering light reflected micro pearls, blended with a sheer ting of colour. Lumi Glow glides effortlessly onto the skin which creates an instant beautiful radiant glow. We recommend using it for the body and for the cheekbones – perfect to use any time of year. Consisting of Grapeseed oil [which is rich in vitamins C, D and E], Lumi Glow also helps in reducing wrinkles and scars whilst acting as a moisturizer to balance both the dry and oily patches on the skin.

Just scoop some up with your finger and pat the water-based gel onto the face or body. It slips on like a dream as you smooth it onto the skin, leaving behind a lightweight wash of radiance—that glistens even after it dries down! I don’t think your ready for this jelly…”

My thoughts?

Have you ever wondered what the sun would be life if it was bottled? That’s exactly what the Lumi Glow Body illuminator is. It sinks into the skin perfectly without feeling sticky. Best of all the glittery is finely milled, meaning it gives that healthy glow without you looking like a disco ball. This can be used face and body meaning you can glow from head to toe at home and on holiday. One of my hacks is to mix this with foundation for that dewy glow. Or you can apply it before a sheer foundation for that ‘has she or hasn’t she’ been on holiday look.

Lumi Mist

“Packed full of hydrating nourishing ingredients – the Lumi Mist is designed to give you a gorgeous show-stopping glow to the skin. The shimmering light’s reflecting properties illuminate and provides a beautiful silky fresh appearance. Lumi Mist can be used a prep before applying makeup or as a finishing spray. Exclusively available in shade medium to dark, this bottle of shimmering goodness is great to freshen up the skin throughout the day to provide a hydrating boost. Due to inundated requests, Femme Beauty will also be launching the rose gold Lumi Mist in later this year!”

My thoughts?

I’m not going to lie I’m really picky when it comes to setting sprays, I usually use the Urban Decay All Nighter and at £24 a pop, I know I am getting a quality product. I’ve used a ton of different setting sprays and mists and I know what I’m looking for.

The verdict: I tried the Lumi Mist over the course of a week and it really held up. I loved the fact it wasn’t just your average spray only for setting your makeup – it worked as a base and to refresh make up. When applied with then Lumi Glow Body Illuminator it made me feel like I was on holiday (a girl can dream right).
