Musings: Why I Miss The 90s/2000s

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much I miss the 90s and the very early 2000s. Can you believe the 90s ended 16 years ago? It feels like yesterday I was playing outside with my friends instead of holed up in my room on my Macbook (much like I am right now).

The 90s and the early 2000s were a simpler, hassle-free time when I remember running home from school to watch the latest episode of Pokemon. These were the days before smartphones and social media where everything just seemed a little more authentic.

Here are just a few things I miss from my childhood era…

 Fashion

Movies

TV

I actually do wonder if I went outside as a kid but in no particular order these are a few of my favourite shows:

Hair and Beauty

Music

I thought I’d save the best topic until last… wasn’t music so much better in the 90s and the early 2000s?

Girl groups, boy groups, rap, grunge, hip hop, rock, there was something for everyone. My music genre of choice has and will always be pop and R&B. I miss the award shows, the celebrity shenanigans and the raw talent all my favourite artists possessed. Will it ever be the same?

[…] Posted on March 14, 2018 by Memoirs & Musings (Char) Reading time 2 minutes I always thought I loved the 1990s, but over the past year or two, the 70s  have really caught my eye.  You can’t deny that the 70s is #ATimelessTrend to this day and where better to browse for modern day inspiration than Chums?
