Musings: Off to the Races – Giveaway

On Saturday 26th November, I will be attending the Newbury Races courtesy of Bet 365,  Hennessy and of course Newbury Racecourse. I’ve always loved putting a bet on a horse every now and then (especially The Grand National), but I’ve always wanted to get glammed up and head on down myself. There is something about race day fashion and fashion faux pas that is quintessentially British.

Who doesn’t love looking at all the fancy hats, frocks and how everyone (including the celebs) interprets the dress code?

Although – finding an outfit this time of year may be a little tricky as soon as Winter rolls around, so does the influx of sequins, crushed velvet and all things Christmas. Not that I don’t like this, but for a day time event (which is also outdoors), I think I’ll be sticking to something classic, clean and minimal. I love a classic outfit with statement accessories and eyes/lips to pull the outfit together… Something along the lines of this.
I’m not a dress and heels kinda girl, I always feel more comfortable in jeans, heels and nice top because clearly I’m stuck in that ‘going out uniform’. I’m not sure what I will wear on the day but thankfully I have a few weeks to find something, recycle something or just stare at my Pinterest boards in the hope something magically appear in my wardrobe.
Most of all, I cannot wait to meeting some new bloggers, see some beautiful horses and enjoy a Hennessy or two…

You might be able to get in on the action too… as Newbury Racecourse and Bet365 have kindly provided me with two Premier badges to giveaway on Twitter. All you need to do is retweet this by midnight on 18th November to be in with a chance of winning (UK entrants only and winners will be chosen at random, must be available November 26th).
Fancy staying overnight? There is also another giveaway…
The prize is Two Premier tickets to the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury Racecourse, a Hennessy picnic and a night for two B&B in the Lodge Hotel for the 26th of November. It is open until the 18th of November. You can check this out here.

About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
