Making a statement in your home is all about putting your personal stamp and signature on your furnishings, walls and the overall ambience. It also may depend on the following:
Perhaps its in an area with deep rooted history, you may only be allowed to change the furnishings as some local councils and authorities may have an overruling authority on what you can do.
If you own your home you can pretty much do anything with it, however if it is grade-listed you may encounter difficulty in changing things to do with the exterior. The same goes for if you are renting or letting. There will always be limitations of what you can or can’t do.
Have you ever considered a staircase with glass balustrades Ones made from glass could give your house the modern edge it needs. Or perhaps you’re after the rustic look and would prefergood old wood. It’s all about finding something sturdy, long-lasting and of course in your budget. Planning ahead is key and you may find all you need online or on YouTube. It’s also worthwhile getting a survey to see exactly what is possible as some materials may be incompatible or just not fit in with your proposed theme or style.
This is the easiest way to make a statement in your home is with furniture. Chairs, tables, wardrobes, chest of drawers and of course sofas. Here are a couple of ways you can make a statement using furnishings:
There is no right way to make a statement in your home. You’ll own know when something fits when you get that ‘ahhh this is so me’ feeling.

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up. I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
