I was sent some winter bits to try by the team at Lighthouse Clothing and I put them to the test on my recent weekend in Austria and Bratislava. ‘Spring’ may be on the horizon it doesn’t mean I’ll putting these back in my wardrobe anytime soon. UK weather is fickle at the best of times.
I am not a hat wearer in the slightest but as I get older I am trying to change up my style where I can and sometimes you have to start small versus a wardrobe overhaul. I choose the ‘Hannah Beanie’ in grey as I it looked like something my grandma would have knitted for me to keep me warm on a winter walk. I always find that when I do wear a hat my hair has to be down otherwise I look like a garden gnome… make way for Noddy!
The Hannah beanie is a perfect way to keep your head warm or hide a bad hair day. It also makes a great transitional piece for those colder days as we ‘March’ into spring.
One of my ‘fashion hacks’ or secrets is shopping in the men’s section. If you’re blessed with a chest you will find that tops an jumpers to be roomier. I loved the Pier long sleeve polo because it was perfect for travel – warm, not-fussy and it fitted really well too. I can see myself wearing this on lazy London days when I don’t want to dress up. For those who want a bit my colour it also comes in a teal blue and a Bordeaux red.
My future kingdom.
The weather throughout my trip was all over the place. It went from wet to dry to 17C at one point – global warming is here to stay. On our day trip from Vienna to Slovakia, the waterproof raincoat came in handy as all it did was rain. That didn’t dampen our spirits though! It fit like a dream and best of all it didn’t take up too much space in my suitcase.

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up. I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
