Musings: 10 Things I Miss About The Airport

This is a very short post but I wanted to relay a few things I miss about my favourite place – the airport. Specifically Heathrow T3.

The anxiety of my suitcase being weighed.

Having to practically strip as I go through security and no dollars being thrown at me.

Being overjoyed that the small liquids I strategically hid throughout my luggage didn’t get pulled out.

Ordering a cocktail at 5am because the laws of time do not exist.

People watching and making up scenarios as to where everyone is going.

Buying overpriced beauty products in duty-free. £19.50 on a lip scrub? Why the hell not.

Contemplating buying a designer bag because it’s “duty free” then humbling myself because the bag costs 10 times the flight I paid for.

Running to the gate and being told to sit down because the flight isn’t even boarding yet.

Judging people who decide to queue for their allocated seat.

The rush, excitement, and lust for somewhere far and new.

What do you miss about the airport?

About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
