Spring is in the air and with that brings change, from the days getting longer and the weather warming up.
Change is in the air and whilst you may not want a complete overhaul, why not have a refresh? This can be applied to anything from your bedroom, to your wardrobe. However in this instance, I am focusing on refreshing your blog’s branding and I’ve listed five easy ways to do this below. If you’re wondering why branding is important, check out this article – What is branding and why is it important for your business?
Niche
Whilst a niche is not absolutely crucial to a blog, it is important. At any point on your blog journey, it’s important to ask yourself the following questions:
What is my blog niche?
What is my angle on my niche?
For example, if you run a beauty blog, do you focus on cruelty free beauty or K-Beauty? This article here is useful for clarifying your niche.
What am I passionate about now?
It’s okay to change this as your blog journey progresses.
Do I have more than one niche?

Moodboard
When you have honed in what your niche(s) are, it’s important to go back to the drawing board (literally). Canva and Pinterest are great tools to get started with. Some tips:
Create a new Pinterest board called ‘blog refresh or revamp’.
Search things like: travel blog colour palette or design.
Pin all the images/videos that pique your interest.
Remember to save any ‘how to’ guides or tutorials.
I created a board here as an example.
Canva
Start with a blank image and use the search tools to find images, illustrations and points of inspiration for your blog refresh. Canva has a useful too where it can save colour palettes for future refresh which will come in very handy.
Fonts
Great typography can make all the difference when it comes to refreshing your blog. Some fonts can inspire adventure and wanderlust whereas others can evoke a sense of history and nostalgia. You can find some great Font Bundles script style fonts to encapsulate your new branding at an affordable price. I’ve already bookmarked a few for side projects!
Tip: Make sure the fonts are legible for accessibility purposes.
House Style
Once you have taken some time to create a mood board, find some fonts that reflect your niche and a colour palette too, it’s now time to create your own ‘house style’. Essentially what this means is documenting the font, colour palette and aesthetic into a document that you’ll be using going forward. This will make life easier for you as you won’t be scrambling through your files trying to remember the specific hex code for your blog graphics. Furthermore, you don’t have to use this just for your blog, extend it to your socials and make your branding instantly recognisable! If you take a look on my Instagram you will see that I stick to a golden theme and it is the same on my blog too.
Reflection of you and your niche
Overall, ensure that the blog refresh is a reflection of you and your niche. Of course we are constantly evolving but you want to be memorable, unique and have someone instantly think ‘oooh that’s [insert name]’s blog/content’.
Will you be refreshing your blog’s branding this year? If so, what look or aesethics are you going for?
