Musings: Miller’s Tap, intu Uxbridge – A Review

Please note, the meal was complimentary in exchange for a review, but of course all views are my own.

The other day I headed to where some of you may only know as the end of the Piccadilly line – Uxbridge, to visit the intu shopping centre. They have a great selection of affordable restaurants and I was kindly ask to try out the newly branded Miller’s Tap (Previously known as the Slug and Lettuce).

intu Uxbridge is a huge shopping centre with everything from Debenhams, JD Sports to my favourite Beauty Base. Before heading to Miller’s Tap, I did a spot of window shopping as it’s that weird time of year where I’m still teetering between ‘I’m trying to save’ and ‘treat yo’self’.

The shopping centre is well laid out, bright and airy and a great selection of shops. I wasn’t too sure where everything was so I popped by the customer information desk and the staff helpfully pointed me in the right direction. I did pick up a map for safekeeping too.

As it was lunchtime and I’d been in the gym that morning as well as a long tube journey, the hunger began the creep in and after finding my way I soon found Miller’s Tap. I’ve been making a conscious effort to take my work out of my room and that means visiting coffee shops, restaurants and going back to basics with a pen and notebook.

Arriving in Miller’s Tap, I knew it was a sports bar but that didn’t bother me too much as there were plenty of quiet areas to chill out. The restaurant works on a pay before you order basis (kinda like Nando’s) and they have a varied menu full of healthy and ‘treat yourself’ dishes. You can check out the main menu here.

I opted for a soft drink, panko-crumbed calamari sticks and the Wagyu beef burger trading the chips for sweet potato fries. They came within 10-15 mins of me ordering which was a plus. Not knowing which to try first, I alternated between the calamari sticks and the burger. Best of all, it came to under £20, meaning you can have a meal out alone, with family or friends and not feel like you’re spending over the odds.

It’s worth a visit for the prawn sticks alone! I will definitely be back.

Will you be intu Uxbridge anytime soon?

A Little Bit About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
