Musings: 5 Ways To Plan Your Content No Matter Your Platform

Please note, this post is in collaboration with ContentCal.

In a world full of content creators creating incredible content, in order to stay on top of it all you need to plan. That doesn’t mean you need to spending ages updating spreadsheets, constantly making to do lists or updating work flow apps.

Notes and Notebooks

Notebooks to writer are a like moths to a flame. You can’t have one without the other. As a writer I primarily can’t live with notes, even if it’s the notes app on my iPhone or a tangible piece of paper – my plans need to be documented. You may find that writing things down helps you define exactly what is is you’re planning. What is the aim? Is it to raise awareness, increase sales or create an impact?

Another important part of the planning process is brainstorming your content. This may help you help you create content based on seasonality (e.g World Potato Day) or give you the creative space you need to let your mind wander. My suggestion when it comes to writing things down is to find a space that inspires you and just write.

Social Media

Planning social media is crucial for bloggers, freelancers and anyone with a business. Using tools such as ContentCal allows you to have your content published on your behalf. Not only that you can check your stats and analytics as you please. Best of all, the platform is simple to use, having been created by an experienced team of social media professionals.

At the moment I can see myself using the Hobbyist plan to run my blog and other social accounts and bumping up to a more advanced account when I look at launching my brand towards the end of 2020. As a blogger, having a social media plan is crucial as it helps me target when exactly to release in line with a social media calendar.

For me, it’s comforting to know that ContentCal offer email support 24/7 especially then things always go wrong when you’re in another timezone!

About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
