Musings: Lunching at Peabody’s, Holborn – A Review

Please note, my meal was complimentary.

The other week I popped down to Peabody’s Coffee Shop in Holborn to try out their lunch offerings and see the new space. If you work in the area or just happen to pass through, it’s walking distance from Farringdon and Chancery Lane stations. Not wanting to venture solo, I took my blogger buddy Jess from LWIG and the other half of my podcast, The Hustle Hotline, with me.

We were greeted by warm and friendly staff who showed us around the store and to the best part… the food.

The space is perfect for a lunch meeting, doing some work or just unwinding away from your desk. Best of all it’s well lit if you’re reading a book or writing.

It took us a little while to decide what to order as there was so much choice! We were informed everything is made free onsite and you can have pretty much anything warmed up. Peabody’s has fresh pasta which you can have heated up, plenty of salad options and a variety of sandwiches and toasties. I went for the ham and cheese ciabatta as I oddly don’t like pasta.

I loved the ham and cheese ciabatta – the bread was fresh and it pretty much melted in my mouth. It was perfect size for lunch and I could see myself eating my way through the sandwich menu to be honest.

Peabodys focus on fresh tasty food all whilst being health and environment conscious. If you fancy something sweet they also have my new favourite – pastel de natas. Again, this was fresh and tasted like it was fresh out of Portugal.

See the full menu here.

All I can say is I’ll be back. Peabody’s Coffee radiates so much positive energy from the welcoming staff to the menu. If you’re nearby, definitely consider it for lunch (or breakfast).

Life is about exploring pasta-bilities

Jess’ verdict on the pasta…

So fresh and tasty! It was as almost as good as the one on my trip to Milan back in May. I’ll definitely be bringing my colleagues here!

About Peabody’s

We’ve just launched, and we’d love you to come and taste our fresh-ground Fairtrade speciality coffee, freshly made pastas, sourdough sandwiches and pastries. All our food and drink is responsibly sourced and extensively taste tested – it’s all natural, fresh and healthy, and the cherry on top is that we make a big effort to keep everything reasonably priced. There are plenty of veggie options, and the vegan trofie with arrabiata is gorgeous! Peabodys started its journey in 1997, serving gourmet coffee and freshly prepared food within hospitals in London, as well as Virgin Active gyms. This is our first high street venue, opened just a few days ago – first of many we hope!

About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
