Musings: 5 x Jhené Aiko Lyrics That Got Me Through Some Hard Times

It’s quite rare I get ~deep~ on my blog simply because I like to maintain an element of privacy and frankly there are some people in this world who use things against you. Hmm, where did that thought come from anyway… Anyway Jhené Aiko is one o of my absolute favourite artists. Her music is raw, real and she has a song for every mood.

1) Change is inevitable
Why hold on to what you have to let go of?

Spotless Mind

100% truth. If you have to let something go, let it. Grieve and move on in your own time, but remember if there was no change, there would be no seasons.

2) That life only gets harder but you gotta get stronger
This is for my brother, I do this for my daughter
That’s why I keep going, that’s why I keep going

They say nothing easy is worth having. It’s true, life only gets harder, we can’t predict the things that are going to happen to us, but we can prepare by being strong. I don’t mean being in the gym 24/7 and inhaling protein, but taking steps, reflecting and becoming a better stronger you – emotionally and mentally.  Find a purpose and let it be your driving force.

3) There’s really no end, there’s really no beginning
There’s really no real, there’s really no pretending
There’s really no fail, there’s really no winning

Life encapsulated.

5) I’m a wanderer
I’m a wanderer, baby

Spotless Mind

This re-ignited my love for travel after what I’d call a relation-blip. Perhaps I realised the whole situation was holding me back? But 5/6 years and over 30 destinations later, I’m good.

What song lyrics have got you through hard times?

About Me

Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up.  I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
