Please note my Whittard afternoon tea was complimentary.
Afternoon tea is one of those rare treats that make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. They’re not something I do enough and when I do have the opportunity I savour every moment. If it’s not the choice in tea, it’s the delicious warm scones that remind me of a summer’s day. Why can’t I have this all the time?
Time for tea.
I was invited to the Whittard tea bar in London’s Covent Garden last week to indulge in their Valentine’s themed afternoon tea. Now I may be very single but that doesn’t mean I can’t share the love. I took my best friend, Emma, as my date and it did not disappoint.
Choosing a tea in the Whittard tea bar is a delight and difficulty. There are so many to choose so many to choose from based on your preferences. I couldn’t come to the Whittard tea bar and just order a standard English Breakfast tea so I opted for a pot of the Vanilla Sundae. It was a perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea… on a sundae.
The afternoon tea was one of the best I’ve had! The sandwiches were fresh, the scones were warm and the deserts tasted like drops of heaven. I will definitely be back for a solo date in future. For now, you can drool over the menu here.
I finished off the afternoon tea with a pot of the Vanilla Honeybush flavoured herbal infusion which was just as sweet as it sounds. If you’re ever planning a day out in London’s Covent Garden, visiting the Whittard tea bar is an absolute must. Or if you’re in the area, pop in for a sit down and pot of tea.

I love going for afternoon tea too and this just sounds amazing! I will definitely head to the Whittard tea bar next time I’m in Covent Garden and I’ll probably order the Vanilla Honeybush herbal infusion – it sounds lovely.
