At the end of 2018, I wrote a post detailing how I did 12 trips in 12 months using only 15.5 days annual leave and well I am very proud to say I have done it again. 2019 has taken my to places I never thought I would go and I guess that’s the beauty of being an open-minded traveller and letting go.
I usually visit somewhere based on:
Disclaimer: I started off with 28 days* annual leave at the beginning of 2019.
*Bank Holidays don’t count as I automatically get these off.
Eindhoven = 0 days leave (One day trip on a weekend)
Madrid = 1 days leave (Over a weekend)
Cambridge 0 days leave (Over a weekend)
Ibiza = 2 days leave (Backed on to a bank holiday)
Amsterdam 1 days leave (Over a weekend)
Dubai & Abu Dhabi = 4 days leave (Backed on to a bank holiday)
Berlin = 1 day leave (Day trip on a Friday)
Mykonos = 3 days leave (Over a weekend)
Tokyo = 6 days leave (utilised two weekends)
Other UK trips: Reading, Manchester, Windsor
Am I going to visit 12 destinations in 12 months again next year? I’m not sure. I always say I want to slow down but whilst I’m “young” and travel for me is form of self care I can’t really say no. What I can do is change the way I travel which means doing everything on my terms; affordable but bourgeois.
Welcome to my little space on the internet, known as Memoirs and Musings. I’m Char, short for Charlotte and my blog/website/diary is dedicated to documenting my Memoirs and Musings, hence the name. I wouldn’t say I was your ‘typical’ blogger either. I don’t care about getting the perfect flatlay or feeling bad for not posting, I just enjoy writing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Anyway, I love to travel, indulge in a glass of white wine, when plans are cancelled and purchase overpriced make up. I guess that’s me in a nutshell, trying to figure out this thing called life, have fun and never lose sight.
